Guide
Checklist: moving into your student room.
Your room is booked. Now for the move. With this checklist you will not forget anything, from the paperwork to the extension lead.
Before you move.
- Your lease is signed.
- The deposit is arranged.
- You know on which date you get your keys.
- You have checked with your insurer whether your belongings are insured in your room, for example through your parents’ family liability insurance.
- You have checked with your municipality whether you need to register your room.
What to bring.
- A mattress, a fitted sheet, a duvet and a pillow.
- Towels and toiletries.
- A desk chair.
- Kitchen equipment: plates, cutlery, glasses, a frying pan and a cooking pot.
- An extension lead with several sockets.
- A desk lamp.
- Clothes hangers and storage boxes.
- A small first-aid kit.
At Cobane you always bring your own mattress and desk chair for hygiene reasons.
On arrival.
- Go through the inventory of fixtures together and take your own photos of your room.
- Report straight away if something is broken or missing.
- Connect your devices to the internet.
- Meet your housemates and agree on how you use the kitchen.
During the year.
At Cobane we clean the shared areas every week and put the bins out. You look after your own room, and you do your own dishes. Is something broken? Let us know and we will make sure it gets fixed.
When you leave.
We expect you to leave your room in the best possible condition: cleaned, without marks on the walls and without holes. That way the refund of your deposit goes most smoothly.
